A modest vegan meal will be provided during the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

100% of the ticket sales will go into the sponsor the meals for The Soup Kitchen Project’s weekly food programme. (each ticket provides about 40 packs of food for our programme)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offbeat Singapore will take you on this walking tour where there are no rose-tinted lenses and you see Singapore as it is. At least of whatever that is left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along Jalan Besar or \u2018Big Road\u2019 (in English), just minutes away from Marina Bay, is a network of side streets of exceptional convenience for vices to thrive. Dig beneath the surface of an almost forgotten layer of Singapore’s society. Get our hands (and mind) ‘dirtied’ through an ‘exercise’ that has almost vanished in immaculate Singapore. Squirm through back alleys and up narrow stairways discovering unfamiliar sights in familiar sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About The Soup Kitchen Project Singapore<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Started as a volunteer-run initiative (c\/o Food #03) in Feb 2009 to provide dinners to the rental flats in our neighbourhood. The plan was simple. To cook vegetarian meals and gift this to people who appreciate this simple gesture. Volunteers did this on Mondays because Food #03 was closed, and they could use the space for cooking and gifting food.

<\/strong>Initially, we started giving about 25 packets of food weekly. Today, we provide 420 dinners every Tuesday, primarily in the Jalan Besar-Lavender neighbourhood in SG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
