HOUSE OF INCEST |
A fundraising event for Post-Museum Fund |
Presented by The Ob/Scene and Grapheme Zine Lab |
"If only we could all escape from this house of incest, where we only love ourselves in the other, if only I could save you all from yourselves." - Anaïs Nin, House of Incest (1936) A cross-disciplinary buffet featuring a main course of an exhibition of the rich imagery of said text as well as Little Birds, a collection of erotic prose. The surreal and the obscene, two worlds, two threads that are exiled from the public sphere in pragmatic, clean-nosed Singapore, come into play. Ongoing scheduled side dishes such as academic talks, film studies and an intimate poetry reading, all in the same vein, serve to contextualize this exploration of the human condition of lust, desire, and the search for the reflected self in the other. |
THE EXHIBITION |

The main course of the House of Incest programme, this exhibition features 17 artists/creatives who have interpreted the rich imagery of Nin's widely acclaimed work of fiction into artworks as well as Little Birds, a collection of erotic prose. Artists:
