| Excelsior Mortis! |
| by Jack Youngblood |
| Opening hours: 6-10pm (Tue-Fri) and 12-10pm (Sat+Sun). |
For the past year Youngblood has been artist-in-residence in a Singaporean computer games design company and he is now presenting the work he has done during this period in this one-man show.
Its themes reference heavily the lurid and dramatic imagery of which contemporary computer games are frequently composed. The work also addresses such notions as ‘the hero’, ‘the beauty’, death and loss and is a development of the ‘old spaceman’ imagery that has constituted his other shows in Singapore.
The artist will present a talk on digital painting on 26 Oct (Sat) at 7.30pm.

[exhibition] |
18 Jan - 10 Feb (Closed from 6 - 8 Feb) |
| Still/Life |
| by Jason Lim |
| Opening hours: 6-10pm (Tue-Fri) and 12-10pm
(Sat+Sun). |
Still/Life questions the notion that Still Life is a sedate and traditional form of expression. The group of works in this exhibition carries with them an alternating current, a constantly reversing flow from one polarity to another; from stillness to movement, from fragility to sturdiness, from permanence to impermanence; from monochrome to colour and from light to shade. The concept of ‘still’ and ‘life’ may themselves also be opposites. The dialogues of opposites extend indefinitely and invite each viewer to arrive at his/her meaning.
Gallery Talk by Jeremy Chu on 19 Jan at 2pm and 30 Jan at 7.30pm. Still life drawing sessions on 2+3 Feb from 2pm - 6pm. Paper and pencils provided.

Fleischmann's works interfere in the economical fields of society. In this talk, he will discuss his latest project on the fashion industry, where he designed a shirt and vest after his fancy in co-operation with the Korean fashion company SSamzie Co., Ltd. This project triggers issues related to commodity fetishism and seeks to redefine the relation between labour and commodity which is usually obscured. |
